Obituary for Margit (Wihlborg) Eisenberg
Margit Viola (Wihlborg) Eisenberg, age 95 of Stratford beloved wife of the late Robert J. Eisenberg passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020. Mrs. Eisenberg was born April 5, 1925 in Stockholm Sweden, daughter of the late Nils Erik and Karin Elisabet (Karlson) Wihlborg.
She immigrated to the United States in 1936 & lived in New Britain, CT with her Aunt Greta Wihlborg. She went to school for 6 weeks to learn English & then to a regular elementary school where her teacher then advised her to speak only English as it was very good. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Stratford since 1955 & a member of the Altar Guild. She was also a teacher in the Grace Lutheran Church Nursery School for about 10 years. Margit sold Fuller Brush door to door during the 1960’s to 1970’s. Margit was Assistant Librarian for the Connecticut Symphonic Winds in Stratford, CT and ran the Box Office for many years.
In addition to her husband was predeceased by a daughter Judith M Moore.
She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Robert C Eisenberg, and daughter, Sandra V Eisenberg: five grandchildren, Erik Moore, Todd Moore, Jamie Armstrong (Bernie), Jason Eisenberg and Ryan C Eisenberg (Sindy Margareth): seven great-grandchildren, Steven Moore, Tara Hedger (Scott), Robert Moore, McKenzie Moore, Madilyn Moore, Jaylin Armstrong and Benjamin Christophe; great-great granddaughters Amelia and Audrey Hedger; niece Rachel Braun, nephew Charles Eisenberg and cousin Bo Båt & his wife Pastor Lena Båt of Venjan, Sweden.
Margit died peacefully in her sleep at home with family by her side.
Friends may visit with the family Friday, December 11, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford, CT.
Do to covid health concerns, the funeral service and Interment will be private.
