Obituary for Maria DePiano Cavaliere
Maria (DePiano) Cavaliere, age 95, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Alexander F. Cavaliere, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 in the Jewish Home in Fairfield, CT.
Mrs. Cavaliere was born April 21, 1922 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Carmen and Lucy (Foglia) DePiano and had been a life time area resident.
Maria was retired from General Electric , was an avid gardener and loved her family.
Survivors include her two children, Vincent Cavaliere and Melissa Cavaliere (previously Lucille Ann Petruccelli), both of Stratford; one brother, Sal DePiano; one sister, Viola Soares and her husband Nicholas; five grandchildren, Michael Petruccelli and his wife Lauren, Joseph Petruccelli, Lisa Marie Pacelli and her husband Patrick, Alex Cavaliere and his wife Gretchen, and Christopher Cavaliere and his wife Marcel; seven great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kate Petruccelli, Dominic and Dante Pacelli and Vincent, Madysen and Sydney Cavaliere; daughter-in-law Esther Cavaliere and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her grandson, Brian Peter Petruccelli and three siblings, William, Angie and Ann.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of both the Atria of Stratford and the Jewish home in Fairfield for their compassionate and professional care of their mother.
The family has scheduled a private funeral service and interment in Saint Michael’s Cemetery celebrated by Father Nicholas Pavia.
