Obituary for Marilyn (Aniolowski) Brackert
Marilyn (Aniolowski) Brackert, age 85, of Stratford, beloved wife of 63 years of Kurt Brackert, passed way Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Brackert was born April 17, 1935 in Utica, New York, daughter of the late John and Lillian (Gromaginski) Aniolowski and had been a longtime Stratford resident.
Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved music, particularly Neil Diamond and the Boston Pops and celebrating holidays with her family. Cooking for days, her special Perogies and Sauerbraten for Christmas Eve Dinner, getting the Easter Basket blessed and the annual Easter Egg Hunt for the Grandchildren. Family meant everything to Marilyn. She loved going to see her Grandchildren at dance recitals, football games, plays, concerts and Scouting events. She also loved family events with her extended family members.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her two daughters, June McEnteer and her husband Kevin of Oxford, CT and Linda Christensen and her husband Paul of Leesburg, VA; four grandchildren, Christopher McEnteer, Peter Christensen and his wife Lindsey, Colleen Loftis and her husband Michael and Thomas Christensen; three great-granddaughters, Leyah and Jordan Christensen, and Lace Loftis; a great-grandson, Connor Loftis; and two siblings, Richard Aniolowski and his wife Eileen and Dorothy Riccio; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a sister, Jeanette Yanosy,
Friends are invited to visit with her family on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. in Saint James Church, 2070 Main St., Stratford. Interment will be in Saint Michael’s Cemetery.
