Obituary for Marjorie Grace Campos
Marjorie Grace (Morrissey) Campos, known to many as Marge, age 91, of Shelton, entered peacefully into eternal life on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Griffin Hospital. Mrs. Campos was born January 25, 1931, in Madison, Connecticut, daughter of the late Edward Morrissey and Clara (Miller) Powers.
Marge is predeceased by her 3 sons Henry, Thomas and Bruce Wierzbicki; sisters Bertha Morrissey, Nancy (Powers) Silvestro and Carol (Powers) Curtis; son-in-law Danny (Tex) DuPaul and many other relatives.
She is survived by her loving children, Deborah Wierzbicki, Joseph Wierzbicki, Thomas McGrath, Elizabeth (McGrath) Almeyda (David), Patricia (McGrath) DuPaul, Misty (Campos) Vargas (Mario) and Joshua Cray; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren and is soon to be blessed with another great-great grandson in May. She is also survived by a brother Arthur Powers and brother-in-law Nelson Curtis and lifelong friends Thomas Boyd and Audrey (Cray) Otero who was like a daughter to Marge.
The world lost a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Marge was retired from Park City Hospital, Bridgeport. She was an avid reader who also loved to watch her Lifetime movies, cook her famous spaghetti and meatballs for her family, and was a lifelong member of Greater Bridgeport Christian Fellowship (GBCF) where she devoted herself to the Lord and loved her church family like her own. She was very strong willed, loving, caring and had a heart of gold; anyone who came to Marge’s house was treated like family. Marge would give you the shirt off of her back if you needed it. Her warm heart will be missed by many. Marge’s famous words were "if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all," and "family is family no matter what."
Friends are invited to visit with her family on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Christian service being held at 6 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford.
Interment will be Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. by meeting directly in Park Cemetery, 620 Lindley St., Bridgeport. A continued celebration of her life will follow.
