Obituary for Mark A. Rivera
Mark A. Rivera, age 26, of Stratford passed away suddenly Sunday, April 3, 2016. Mark was born January 22, 1990 in Valley Stream, NY, son of Luis and Gail (White) Rivera and lived in Queens, NY, until he moved to Stratford at age 9.
Mark attended Stratford High School and graduated from Porter and Chester Institute. He was a commercial fisherman, most recently with Briarpatch Enterprises Inc.
Mark enjoyed many hobbies, including fishing, spending time on the water, auto mechanics, and socializing with his many friends, especially with Brooklyn cousins. He loved family gatherings and dogs, especially his dogs Capone and Safera.
He was an amazing son, brother, cousin, uncle, friend and, most importantly, a great father to Marleigh.
He is survived by his longtime companion and mother of his daughter, Carrie Phillips of Milford; his cherished daughter, Marleigh Hope Rivera of Milford; one brother, Luis Matthew Rivera of Stratford; one sister, Lydia Ann Limiero and her husband William of Cape Coral, Florida and two nieces, Sydney Rivera and Isabella Limiero, many cousins and numerous aunts and uncles.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. from the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford for a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
