Obituary for Martha Long
Martha Bell Long, age 96, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Francis (Frank) Long, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 17, 2022. Martha was born April 13, 1926 in Dallas,Texas, daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Nellie (Horsman) Howell.
Martha enjoyed outdoor activities and nature; her favorite hobby was gardening. She is survived by three daughter Carol Toth and her husband Jack of Port Charlotte, FL; Karen Johannesen of Stratford and Sharon Allison and her husband Steve of Stratford. She is predeceased by one grandchild Tommy and survived by five grandchildren, Laura, Jenn, Sandy, John and Jeffrey; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service celebrated by Deacon John Piatak, on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford. Friends may visit with the family prior to the service from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Martha’s memory may be made to Stratford Animal Rescue Society (STARS), 225 Beacon Point Road, Stratford, CT 06615 or Sterling House Food Pantry, 2283 Main Street, Stratford, CT 06615.
