Obituary for Marybeth Connell
Mary Elizabeth “Marybeth” Connell, age 89, of Stratford, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021, in the Brightview Nursing Facility, Shelton, CT. Marybeth was born December 24, 1931, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Carney) Connell and had been a lifetime area resident.
Marybeth was a graduate of Lauralton Hall. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Albertus Magnus College and her Master’s Degree from Fairfield University.
Marybeth taught for 25 years in the Stratford Public School System. After retirement she worked for Fairfield University as a student teacher supervisor.
Marybeth was devout parishioner of Saint James church where she was a lector, taught Catechism and was a Eucharistic Minister
She was predeceased by her brother, William.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. in Saint James Church, 2070 Main St, Stratford. Interment will follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
Friends may visit with her family before Mass time from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford. Face masks will be required.
