Obituary for Matilda 'Tillie' (Wachter) Klaff
KLAFF - Matilda 'Tillie' (Wachter) Klaff, age 95, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Michael Klaff entered eternal life Monday, March 17, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital. Mrs. Klaff was born August 2, 1918 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late John J. and Margaret (Panda) Wachter and had been a lifetime area resident. Matilda loved to cook, enjoyed traveling with her friends from the Baldwin Center and was always up for a good game of Pinochle. She Was retired from Bassick Manufacturing and Sikorsky Aircraft. Survivors include her two daughters, Patricia Klaff of Shelton and Katherine Veillette of Milford; two sons, Richard and John Klaff, both of Stratford; three grandchildren, Lynne Litvyn and her husband Gregory of Guilford, Howard Veillette and his wife Kim of Buffalo, NY and Dennis Veillette of Milford; two great-grandchildren; Gavyn and Gregory Litvyn and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and a sister, John Wachter and Ethel Godin. Friends are invited to attend her funeral service celebrated by Deacon Tom Masaryk on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford. Interment follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may visit with the family Saturday before service time from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
