Serving Our Community Since 1951Mildred was a parishioner of St. James Church, where she belonged to the Ladies Guild. In addition, she belonged to the Baldwin Senior Center and their Writers Group, where they published "Caboodle". Mildred loved writing stories about her family, husband and children.
After moving to Shelton in 2000, she became a member of the Shelton Senior Center and enjoyed many of their day trips.
She is survived by her daughter Janet Cody and her husband William; six grandchildren, Colonel Robert Cody, U.S. Army, Retired and his wife Lisa of Stamford, James Cody and his wife Kimberly of Stratford, Donna Cody-Kohanowski of Nashville,TN, Kimberly Hazelo-Sherman of Richmond, VA,
Rob Hazelo of Foot Hills Ranch, CA and Tina Breitbach and her husband Will of Redding, CA.
She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren Matthew Kohanowski, Michael Cody, Brett Cody, Katelyn Cody and Claire Cody, Dana Sherman of Virginia and Dylan and Gavin Breitbach of California.
In addition to her husband, Claude Hazelo, she is predeceased by her son Chief Petty Officer Robert Hazelo, U.S. Navy.
The family would like to thank Shelton Lakes and Hospice for their love and support.
Friends are invited to attend Mildred's funeral service on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. from the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church, 2070 Main Street, Stratford for a Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, 1740 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, CT.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, September 19, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
