Obituary for Mildred L. Morris
MORRIS - Mildred L. (Wilmot) Morris, age 94 of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Dr. Felix R. Morris, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in the Hancock Hall Nursing Facility, Danbury, CT surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Morris was born February 20, 1920 in Stratford, daughter of the late Jessie and Maryann (Kelly) Wilmot and had been a lifetime area resident. She graduated from St. Vincent School of Nursing and worked for many years in the Emergency Room and the Nursery of St. Vincent’s Hospital. During their early years of marriage, her husband Dr. Felix Morris was assigned to the Pentagon and Mildred worked as an RN in the Pentagon’s Civilian Dispensary. She loved to play cards with friends, was a member of the St. Mark Church Ladies Guild, the St. Vincent Nurses Auxiliary and volunteered for many years in the St. Vincent Hospital Gift Shop. Survivors include her daughter, Madalyn Dyott and her husband Stephen of Ridgefield, CT; five grandchildren, Christine Hall and her husband Justin of Atlanta, GA, Stephen Dyott of Atlanta, Katharine Dyott of Atlanta, Alison Dyott of Washington DC and Sarah Dyott of Ridgefield and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mable Smith, Evelyn Gardowski and Eleanor Wilmot. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m in St. Mark Church, 500 Wigwam Lane, Stratford. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may visit with the family Friday before Mass time from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the William R.
