Obituary for Pat Mullane
Joan Patricia Mullane, passed away on Sunday, 3 April 2016 at the age of 82. She was the youngest of seven children of Thomas and Agnes Minogue.

Born and raised in Bridgeport, CT, Pat graduated Harding High School Class of 1951. She and her husband Bill were married 56 years at his passing in March 2013. They raised five children Kevin, Brian, Ellen, David and Karin at their home on Duane Place in Bridgeport.

Pat was a hands-on mom and always there for her kids and their activities. Later, she worked as a teller at the neighborhood Connecticut National Bank down the hill from their home. In 1985, Pat and Bill retired to their cul-de-sac home on Willett Blvd in Pilot Knob, New York. The next 30 years were full of family gatherings and grandchildren beginning with Corey, Kelsey, Patrick, Lauren, Erin and Colleen. Pat was always a tireless caregiver to her family. She enjoyed her time with the garden club, the Glens Falls Hospital Guild and the Pilot Knob Association. It was well known to neighbors that if you wanted to get to work or school on time, you needed to be on the Pilot Knob Road before Mrs. Mullane left for the general store in the morning. Pat was fond of the community at Pilot Knob especially the Willett and Lindsay families.

Pat was well traveled and made many trips over the years. From her honeymoon in Bermuda, voyage on the QE2, and their lovely journey to Ireland with her husband Bill. She had fun with her sister-in-law Carol LaPrise on her trip to Las Vegas and California and she additionally made trips to Florida, Cuba and Hawaii in support of the Naval careers of her daughter and son-in-law, Navy Captains, Karin and Michael Vernazza. She enjoyed her snowbird trips to Boca Raton, Florida to visit with her son Brian and his family at their home. It was on these visits that her grandson Corey would make it clear that Pat was "My Grandma" as he did not want others interfering with their time together.

In Pat's final year she returned to Connecticut where she lived at Split Rock in Shelton. She enjoyed her time with family and new and old friends. Pat found a great friend in resident Joe Cowden, they shared Sunday church services, attended baseball games and stage shows that kept the two out far after curfew. The Mullane family would like to thank all of the staff at Split Rock and daughter-in-law Sarah for making Pat's final year so special.

Pat is going straight to heaven as a devout Catholic and the absolute nicest person in the world. In memory of Pat, the family requests that you take time to think of others before yourself, be kind and help bring joy to others on your way through life.

In lieu of a wake, friends may greet the family at a celebration of Pat's Life on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 6pm to 10pm in the "The Room" at Vazzy's on 513 Broadbridge Rd, Stratford. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 11am by meeting directly at St. Lawerence Church, 505 Shelton Ave, Shelton, CT. Interment will be private. A separate celebration will be held on June 25, 2016 in Pilot Knob, NewYork.
