Obituary for Paul D. Martanis
Paul D. Martanis, age 51, of Orange, CT, beloved partner of Takashi Yoshikawa "Tak", whom he shared a 20 year marriage commitment, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 8, 2016 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Born in Bridgeport, November 5, 1964, Paul was a graduate of Jonathan Law High School and State Academy of Hairdressing. He was a hairdresser for thirty years and was employed at Picasso Hair Art in Orange.
In addition to Tak, he is survived by his parents Paul "Sonny" and Bridget (Salvaggio) Martanis; brother, Michael Martanis and his wife Dawn of Florida and two sisters, Dallas and Sydney Stephen of Milford. He also leaves behind his faithful dogs, Dudley and Coco. He is predeceased by his sister, Nicole Stephen; paternal grandparents, John and Sophie Martanis and maternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Jane Salvaggio.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. from the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St. Stratford and at 9:00 a.m. in St. James Church, Stratford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Orange Center Cemetery, Orange, CT. Visitation will be Monday, September 12, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Â
