Obituary for Peggy (Uhdal) Munigle
Margaret “Peggy” (Uhdal) Munigle, age 90, a Stratford resident and beloved wife of the late Robert L. Munigle, passed away on Monday, June 3, 2013 in her home surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Lawrence and Sarah Gibbons Uhdal, she was resident of the Town of Stratford since 1950. Peggy was a graduate of Sacred Heart School of Bridgeport and Bassick High School. She was a school crossing guard on the corner of Wilcoxson Avenue and East Main Street, Stratford for a number of years before she worked and retired from Jordan Marsh Department Store. Peggy was known to always have a kind word to share with her “special cookies” that were ever ready. She enjoyed being at her home with family and friends, gardening and visiting with neighbors. She was a member of St. James Seniors and regularly attended the Baldwin Center to crochet with the Monday group. Peggy will be fondly remembered and missed by her family, including her children, Roberts L. Munigle and his wife Lenora of Irvington, NY, Margaret Munigle-Kunsch and her husband Daniel Kunsch, Sally and her husband Dr. Joseph Whitt of Aurora, IL and Jean Marie and her husband Thomas Einig of Lordship, CT; her grandchildren, Keira Munigle Smith and her husband Brian, Kyle Munigle and his wife Maggie, Ian Kunsch and Christina Crow, Meredith Kunsch White and her husband David, Michael and Stephen Whitt; her great grandchildren, Isabella and Ronan Smith. She is also survived by her nephews, Thomas and Terry Moore and nieces, Dr. Linda Strong and Kathy Moore Swejkowski and a few cousins. Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, June 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly at St. James Catholic Church, 2110 Main St, Stratford, CT. Interment to follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford, CT. Friends may greet the family on Thursday, June 6 from 4:00 to 8:00 in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford, CT.
