Obituary for Peter Consalvo
Peter Consalvo, age 70, 0f Stratford died of unknown causes over the weekend of June 26, 2021. Peter was born in Bridgeport, son of the late Virgilio and Helen (Green) Consalvo and had been a lifelong area resident.
Peter was a man who was good at life, a sweet, non-judgmental, caring individual who never dwelled on the negative. Thoughtful and generous in the extreme, you could always count on Peter to remember EVERYBODY’S BIRTHDAY. He started Christmas shopping at Macy’s well before anyone and showered his friends with perfect presents. He even remembered to buy Gus the dog a new coat for Christmas. It never mattered whether or not he received a gift, it was all about the giving.
He graduated from Bunnell High School in 1968 and was probably the best skier in Stratford. He was very proud to have been at the original Woodstock, he even shows up briefly in the movie
Peter worked at Porricellis grocery store until it closed. In recent years he enjoyed days at the beach, especially Sherwood Island, fishing on the Farmington River and vacationing in the Catskills. Peter was always up for any kind of outing, a positive addition to any gathering.
He is survived by his brother, Paul Consalvo, and his best friend George Charlesworth.
This wonderful man will be sadly missed by all who knew him. And as his friend George said, “the world was a better place with Peter in it. May he rest in peace.”
All services will be private.
