Obituary for Peter John Towne
Peter John Towne, age 63, of Stratford, beloved husband of Laura Niebanck Towne, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 in the Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Fairfield.
Mr. Towne was born September 28, 1957 in Bridgeport, son of the late John and Hazel (Reed) Towne and had been a lifelong area resident.
Peter was a retired machinist for Schick Manufacturing. He enjoyed playing basketball and volleyball, vacationing with the family and square dancing with his wife Laura with whom he met many years ago while square dancing. Peter also enjoyed attending Sam’s Unified Sports events and watching his son bowl for Bunnell High school for four years.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his children Samuel and Jennifer Towne, several nieces and nephews, and his pup Bailey.
He was predeceased by a sister, Constance Smith and Bailey’s predecessor Cody.
Friends and Family are invited to attend a Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Simeon Law on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 10:00am in the Stratford United Methodist Church, 2600 Main St, Stratford, CT 06615. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, https://www.parkinson.org.
