Obituary for Philip F. DelVecchio
Philip F. DelVecchio age 66 beloved husband of Diane Dix DelVecchio of Stratford entered eternal rest Saturday October 20, 2012 in Bridgeport Hospital. Born in New Haven February 23, 1946 he resided in Stratford for the past 19 years. Philip was a retired mechanical foreman with Metro North where he work for 40 years. He was inducted into the Grid Iron Club Hall of Fame for his achievements in sports. In addition to his wife Diane he is survived by two sons Peter (Michelle) DelVecchio and Philip (Brigid) DelVecchio, one step daughter Gina Jabbar. Seven grandchildren Jonathan, Christopher David, Michael, Alexander, Leila, Sadie and a granddaughter on the way. Two Sisters Marianne (Robert) Pernalt and Martha DelVecchio two brothers Joseph (Mary) DelVecchio and Pasquale (Carmella) DelVecchio and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother Louis DelVecchio. He will be missed by all. Friends are invited to attend his funeral on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at 10 am from the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford and at 10:30 am in St. James Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment is private. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 to 10 am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis TN 38105.
