Obituary for Raymond P. Pocevic
Raymond Paul Pocevic, age 72, of Orange passed away at home on Saturday, November 20, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Ray was born March 25, 1949, in Bridgeport, son of the late Gustave and Roberta (Maloney) Pocevic and had been a lifelong area resident. He graduated from Milford High School and worked very hard at everything he did until he retired.
He was a United States Army Veteran and he served in the Vietnam War. Ray was the owner and operator of A-1 Cleaning Service for over 40 years.
Ray was a loving husband, the best father, a caring brother, an amazing uncle, and a great friend. Ray enjoyed coaching Little League, pitching in softball games, playing cards and games with his friends and family, and of course cheering on the New York Yankees.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Judy (Swift) Pocevic of 50 years. In addition he is survived by his adoring daughter, Shannon (Pocevic) Saleski and her husband Steven of Orange; a sister, Roberta Pocevic of Durham and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Minnie Coretti Gustave, Robert, Vincent, Arthur and Ronald Pocevic.
Calling Hours will be Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT
A celebration of his life will follow at 5:00 p.m. with full Military Honors.
