He joined the United States Marine Corp in 1943 and proudly served in World War II from 1943 to 1946 as a Staff Sergeant with the Marine Bombing Squadron Six-Thirteen (VMB-613) deployed in the South Pacific on the Island of Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands. Reino was a devoted husband and father who most enjoyed time spent with his wife and children. They would often be seen on the town tennis courts, at the beach or boating and fishing. Family vacations were taken to Cape Cod and to Maine and New Hampshire to visit family. Reino enjoyed his retirement with Shirley and they traveled extensively to Europe, Canada, South America, the Caribbean Islands, as well as through the Continental U.S. He loved the study of maps and each trip was thoughtfully and precisely planned.
