Obituary for Richard Baldwin
Richard Baldwin, age 78, devoted companion for forty years of Paula Santos formerly of Stratford passed away Friday August 17, 2012 in Saint Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport, Mr. Baldwin was born in Bridgeport January 26, 1934, son of the late Harold and Pauline (Wade) Baldwin and was a life time area resident until moving to Hamden one year ago. He retired as a lead inspector for Casco products of Bridgeport was an honorary member of Winston Dina Post 9991 of Bridgeport since 1973 and the American Legion’s Sons of Legion, he was also a member of the Baldwin Center Men's Senior Club. In addition to Paula he is survived by five sons Richard Emery Baldwin and Jeffery Baldwin both of Bridgeport, Rory Baldwin of Atlanta, GA., Rev. Garry Baldwin of Dover, DE., and Edward Derr of Norwich; three brothers Louis Baldwin of Los Angeles, CA., Harold Baldwin of Stratford and Leonard Baldwin of Orange; two sisters Dorothy Tillman of Stratford and Blanche Hudley of Union, NJ.; sixteen grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren , three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two daughters Valerie Green and Karen Grant. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service officiated by his son, the Reverend Garry Baldwin on Thursday August 23, 2012 at 11:00 am in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street, Stratford. Interment will follow in Mountain Grove Cemetery Easton.
