Obituary for Richard Michael Tuozzoli
Richard Michael Tuozzoli, a lifelong resident of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning surrounded by loving family. “Papa”, as he was affectionately known, was born on August 29, 1947 to Michael and Angelina (Pietrini) Tuozzoli.
After graduating from Central High School he joined the US Army and later served proudly on the Bridgeport Fire Department and retired as a Lieutenant. While being a first responder, Richard also owned and operated Saveway Tires in Stratford, Connecticut.
Richard is pre-deceased by his childhood sweetheart and wife, Bonita “Bonnie” Tuozzoli and survived by his children, Tina Christensen (Tuozzoli) and Richard Tuozzoli; his grandchildren, Sophia Tuozzoli, Daniel Barash, Richard Tuozzoli and Thomas Christensen; his daughter-in-law, Alicia Tuozzoli and his son-in-law, Eric Christensen; his sister Carolyn DeFillipo, her husband Thomas DeFillipo and their family; his sister-in-laws Paulette Ruggiero and Brenda Cobb, brother-in-law Donald Ruggiero, nephew, Christopher Ruggiero, his great niece Janecia Natal and Richard's companion Theresa Mezzo.
He was also predeceased by a nephew, James Ruggiero.
Richard was a devoted family man who loved the simple things in life; He enjoyed riding his Harley, hosting family gatherings at his house and spending time cooking and laughing with his loved ones.

The family would like to thank the ICU/MICU team at St. Vincent’s Hospital for taking such amazing care of their Papa.
