Serving Our Community Since 1951Robert was a United States Airforce veteran and served as a Staff Sargent in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He was a retired foreman of the Gear Room for Sikorsky Aircraft and was an avid fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert D. Koether and his wife Michelle of Seymour, Jefferey Koether and his wife Heather of Ansonia; sister, Gail Koether of Stratford; two grandchildren, Victoria and Charlotte; uncle Raymond Jelliffe and his wife Sharon of Milford; mother-in-law Helen Gusch; sister-in-law, Diane Gusch of Stewart, FL, and several cousins.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. from the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford 06615 and at 10:00 a.m. for a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial in St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 220 Shelton Road, Trumbull 06611.
Interment with full Military Honors will follow in Nichols Farm Burial Ground, 12 Cemetery Dr., Trumbull.
Friends may visit with his family Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
