Obituary for Robert M. Cronk Sr.
Robert Mark Cronk Sr., age 82, of Stratford, beloved husband of Sylvia (Periera) Cronk passed away Friday, January 6, 2016 in Saint Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport. Mr. Cronk was born February 25, 1934 in Bridgeport, son of the late Wesley Mortimer and Elizabeth (Waller) Cronk and had been a life time Stratford resident.
Bob was a 1953 graduate of Stratford High School, a United States Army veteran and the owner operator of the Lordship Exxon. He also enjoyed fishing, landscaping and coffee breaks.
He especially cherished his afternoons sitting with his wife Sylvia on their back porch overlooking the Housatonic River.
Survivors in addition to his wife include his three children, Frank Carbone and his wife Emily, Mary Marinko, and Robert Cronk Jr. and his wife Debbi all of Stratford; one sister, Margaret Weinheimer; two sisters-in-law, Fran Cronk and Terey Bjorlin and her husband Roy; seven grandchildren, Heather, Brianne and Wesley Cronk, Melissa Kimmey and her husband Keith, Samantha, Julie and Kaitlyn Carbone; three great-grandchildren, Nolan, Kaiden and Madelyn and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Mark Cronk; two grandchildren, Mark Marinko and Frank Carbone; brother Wesley Cronk and a son-in-law Joseph Marinko
Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Tuesday, January 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. by meeting directly at the Lordship Community Church, 179 Prospect Drive, Stratford. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Lordship Community Church.
