Serving Our Community Since 1951Rosemary (Malafronte) Iacomacci, age 90 of the Lordship section of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Carlo Iacomacci passed away Monday January 30, 2023. Mrs. Iacomacci was born March 28, 1932, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Boiano) Malafronte and had been a long time Stratford resident.
Rosemary graduated from Stratford High School in 1950, then started her career at the Southern Connecticut Phone Company until she started raising her kids. She then worked in Security on the Presidential Helicopter Program at Sikorsky Aircraft until her retirement in 1999.
She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities, going out with her girlfriends, being active in Our Lady of Peace church, was a fixture at 5:00 Mass on Saturday, and was adamant about making Sunday dinner for her family every week. She was involved in numerous community activities. She loved gambling with the neighbors, playing Friday night Yahtzee, cards, or anything they could make a wager on, including Sunday football games with the help of her grandson Adam. Any winnings always went to the grandchildren. Her greatest win was when she won a car at the casino. She was also an avid Yankees fan. She shared a birthday with her youngest granddaughter Claudia and celebrated by blowing out the candles on the cake together every year. Rosemary’s friends and family were the most important thing to her.
Survivors include her son, Carl Iacomacci and his wife Andrea; four grandchildren, Kevin Arszyla, Lauren Sheridan and her husband Steve, Adam Iacomacci and Claudia Iacomacci and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter Debra Ann Reilly and two brothers, Anthony and Gabriel Malafronte.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian burial on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. by meeting directly in Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Road, Stratford.
Interment will follow in St Michael’s Cemetery, Stratford.
