Obituary for Sheila Haffner (LaBash) Nolting
Sheila Haffner (LaBash) Nolting passed away peacefully on June 29, 2015 at the age of 80 with her family by her side. Sheila was born on September 6, 1934 in Bridgeport, CT. A proud East Ender, she graduated from Blessed Sacrament School in 1948, Warren Harding High School in 1952, the University of Bridgeport in 1955 with an Associate in Science and the University of Connecticut in 1991 with a Bachelor of General Studies.

Sheila retired in 2006 after a long career as a paralegal specializing in real estate title law. Prior to that, as a mother and homemaker, she and her first husband, Richard D. LaBash, were offered a career opportunity that led the family across the U.S. and Europe. During this time Sheila fed her love for the arts, history and cuisine. She shared her passion and knowledge with her sons. This passion and love carries on through them.

Sheila is survived by her sons, Richard LaBash and his wife Michele of Newtown, Charles LaBash and his wife Laura of Cohasset, MA, Geoffrey LaBash and his wife Darci of Fairfield and George LaBash and his wife Elisa of Middletown. She is also survived by her grandchildren Charles, Jr., Beck, Isabelle, Willow, Violet, Audrey and Blake; her sister-in-law Janet Haffner and her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Robert Nolting, her parents George C. Haffner & Isabel Lavery Haffner and her brother George "Bud" Haffner.  The Family would like to thank Leonie Meyers and Imani Masdoumier of The Connecticut Hospice, Inc. and the staff of The Carolton Chronic & Convalescent Hospital for their care of Sheila during her battle with Alzheimer's.

Friends and family may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull, CT.
