Obituary for Stanley Michael Gloss
Stanley Michael Gloss, age 63, of Stratford, beloved husband of Kathleen ‘Kate’ (Barnett) Gloss passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 7, 2022, Saint Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. Stan was born July 22, 1958, in Bridgeport, son of the late Stanley and Greta Nanette (Brewster) Gloss.
Stan grew up in Lordship and spent nearly all of his life in Stratford, although he often joked that he did escape to Milford for a handful of years. He was a proud graduate of Stratford High School and Fairfield University, spending his career as an accountant/corporate controller. He loved his days spent as the Controller for “interesting” companies – including a traveling comic convention/pop-culture show.
In addition to his wife, Kate, Stan will be missed by those who loved him best, sons Michael ‘Mick’, and Brendan, beloved daughter of his heart, Alexandra ‘Xani’ Mahoney, and chosen son, Austin Charles, fiancé of Mick. In addition, he leaves behind to cherish his memory and share his stories, a special niece and nephew, Ashley and Anthony Brunner; his sister, Shirley May; two special sisters-in law, Allyson Mahoney and Suzanne Brunner; eleven nieces and nephews, Kate’s siblings, and his much-loved pack of five four-legged kids.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Virginia Ernst.
We were blessed by his loving presence for too short a time.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by Reverend Father Peter Adamski on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. by meeting directly at Saint James Church, 2070 Main St, Stratford.
Interment will be private.
Friends may visit with his family Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford
Donations in his memory may be made to Saint James Church, 2070 Main St, Stratford.
