Serving Our Community Since 1951Steve was an army veteran of World War II, where he saw active duty and was wounded in Germany. He joined the Stratford Police Department in 1951 and served until retirement in 1977. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus St. James Council of Stratford, the Police Anchor Club, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.
He is predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Arline and his brother, Joseph. He is survived by his sisters, Helene Phillips, Marianne McGinnis, and Irene Hudak and his brother, Andrew Liscinsky; his four children, Wayne Liscinsky and his wife, Debbie of New Milford, Sheryl Buckingham and her husband, Michael of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Darlene Dunn of Watertown, CT, and Father Steven Liscinsky, a priest of the Legionaries of Christ currently residing in Rolling Prairie, IN. He is blessed with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited for calling hours from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 6, 2016 at William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main Street in Stratford. A funeral Mass will be celebrated by his son, Father Steven Liscinsky at 10:00 a.m. by meeting directly in St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 220 Shelton Road, Trumbull, CT. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
