Obituary for Virginia (Casey) Miller
MILLER - Virginia (Casey) Miller, age 93, of Stratford passed away Sunday, July 27, 2014 in the Saint Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport. Mrs. Miller was born April 7, 1921 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Clifford and Bernice (Hyslop) Casey Sr. and had been a lifetime Stratford resident. She was retired from both Schick and American Chain and Cable. Virginia was a very strong woman descended from one of Stratford’s original families. All her life she never could tolerate discrimination of any kind. She was a very charitable woman, loved to garden, loved to read especially about history, enjoyed writing letters to relatives and friends around the globe and enjoyed her many visits to England and was very fond of the country and the English people. Survivors include her son, Paul Miller and his wife Barbara of Cheshire; two sisters, Barbara Dwyer of Stratford and Lois Phoenix of Townsend, VT; four grandchildren, Deborah Davis of Lancaster, PA, Judith Monllos and her husband Dean of Cheshire, Dianna Miller and Laurie O’Neil and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, especially her niece Cheryl Macisco and her husband Chris who both were devoted and a great help to her over the last few years. She was predeceased by a son, John T. Miller, a brother, Clifford F. Casey, Jr. and her husband Frank Miller. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Episcopal Church, 2000 Main St, Stratford, CT. All other services and Interment will be private.
