Obituary for Virginia 'Ginny' (Fellow) Mackbach
Virginia 'Ginny' (Fellow) Mackbach, age 82, beloved wife of the late Francis 'Mac' Mackbach, entered eternal life September 7, 2013 in St. Vincent Medical Center with her family at her bedside. Ginny was born in Stratford, February 5, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Vitale) Fellow. She was a lifelong resident of Stratford and was employed at Honeyspot House of Spirits. An avid Bingo player she was one of the founders of Saint James Friday Night Bingo as well as longtime player and volunteer. Ginny loved cooking and holidays with her family and her door was always open to friends. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ginny is survived by her children Francis (Tania) Mackbach, John Mackbach, Paul (Deborah) Mackbach, all of Stratford, Glenn (Victoria) Mackbach of Southbury, Dawn (Salvatore) D’Angelo of Shelton, Debra (Thomas) Strong of Oxford and Susan (Walter) Shumyhora of Stratford; her cherished grandchildren Karisten, Glenn Jr., Samantha, Andrew, Jason, Jessica. Jennifer, Dion, Justin, Rachel, Ryan, Brittany, Oskar, Alexis, Tyler,Erica, Anthony, Marisa, Vincent, and Gianna; great grandchildren Dante and Madelyn; one brother William (Veronica) Fellows of Norfolk; one sister Vera Havanec of Shelton; many nieces, nephews and lifelong girlfriends. Friends are invited to attend Ginny's funeral on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from The William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford and at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on her memory to the CT Chapter of Spina Bifida, P.O. Box 2545, Hartford, CT 06146-2545.
