Obituary for Virginia (Paglinco) Piccolo
Virginia Louise (Paglinco) Piccolo, age 94 of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and previously of Bridgeport, CT, beloved wife of the late Frank Louis Piccolo passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Piccolo was born in Bridgeport, December 11, 1921, daughter of the late Salvatore and Louisa (DeFrancesco) Paglinco and had been a life time area resident before moving to Florida.
Virginia, graduated from Central High School. She met her future husband Frank while working at GE during World War II and they remained together for 45 years. She loved being a homemaker and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a passion for cooking and enjoyed entertaining her friends. She had an extensive cookbook collection and explored the world through cuisine and travel.
Survivors include her four devoted children, Loren Piccolo and his longtime companion Ann Tzanarvaris of Bridgeport, Frank Piccolo, Robert Piccolo and Phyllis Timlin and her husband James all of Florida; five adored grandchildren, Frank and Renee Piccolo and Ryan, Michael and Lauren Timlin; and many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by five brothers, Daniel, Raymond, Armand, Johnny and Joseph Paglinco and six sisters, Lena and Edith Paglinco, Winnie Eisen, Gloria Paglinco, Rose Wilson and Viola Tetu.
Friends may visit with her family on Saturday June 25, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford. A Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. in the funeral home followed by entombment in Saint Michael's Chapel Mausoleum.
