Serving Our Community Since 1951He was a retired Manufacturing Engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft and a proud United States Army Veteran of World War II. Â As a sergeant, Wallace led his troops in the Anzio Beach landing in January of 1944 as well as other battles that followed. He was a champion competitive roller skater, and a member of the Stratford Raymond Goldbach VFW Post 9460.
Survivors include his four children, Wallace Kerrigan II and his wife Rena of Oxford, Colleen Soldi and her husband Jack of Milford, Deborah Kerrigan of Stratford and Joseph Kerrigan of Shelton; seven grandchildren, Kelly Kerrigan, Wallace Kerrigan III, Brian Battistelli, Stephen Soldi, Jeffrey Soldi, David Soldi and Patrick Soldi; one brother, George Kerrigan and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by five of his siblings, Dorothy Dickneider, Charles Kerrigan, Robert Kerrigan, Shirley Robinson and Margaret Gill and his beloved dog "Captain."
Friends are invited to attend his funeral service celebrated by Deacon Tim Bolton on Tuesday Evening, August 30, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford CT. Friends may visit with his family Tuesday before service time from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment with full Military Honors  will be Friday, September 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Union Cemetery.
