Obituary for Wilfred “Lenny” Viens, Jr.
Wilfred Gerard Viens, Jr. “Lenny”, age 61, of Milford, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Lenny, as he was affectionately known as, was born August 11, 1958 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the son of the late Wilfred G. and Betty L. (Everhart) Viens, Sr.

Lenny was a long time area resident and was employed by Home Depot and Federal Express Office in previous years. Earlier in his life, Lenny appeared on Broadway in “The Magic Show”, along with other shows. He appeared as an extra in “Star Trek, The Voyage Home”. While living in Dallas, he starred as Snoopy in a college production of “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”. While appearing in “Red Ryder”, at the same college, Nichelle Nichols saw him and told him after the performance that he scared the hell out of her with that performance. Those were two of his favorite roles.

Lenny enjoyed acting, however, he developed a chronic disease which precluded him from continuing that career. He continued working in other areas until such time as he could no longer work.

Lenny is survived by his partner of 30 years Douglas Schinke of Milford, CT; step-fathers William Pelkey, Jr. of Florida, Ken Hunt of South Carolina; sisters Nancy and Joe McKuen of Enfield, CT, Rullahnelle and Rob Price of Charlotte, NC; brothers, John Viens, Sr., Jay and Mary Osgood of South Carolina, Sam and Angela Pelkey Sr. William Pelkey, III both of Florida; nephews Josh and Nicole Viens, John Viens, Jr., Sam Pelkey, Jr., Chris and Jessica Pelkey, Sr., Patrick Price,; nieces Andrea and Dave Frediani, Cayla Pelkey, and Whitney Price. He is survived by his great nieces and nephews, Adriana Viens, Ashley Shaw, Elijah Viens, Jesse Viens, Samantha Pelkey, Logan Pelkey, Chris Pelkey, Jr., Malachi Pelkey, Kayleigh Pelkey, Zayne Pelkey, Carmen Pelkey, Xavier Curtis, Kaden Curtis and Noah Frediani.

All services are private and entrusted to the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, Stratford, CT.
