Obituary for Deborah Davis Roche
Deborah Davis Roche, age 64 of Easton, CT, beloved wife of Edward Roche, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2021 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York. Deborah was born July 14, 1956 in Worcester, MA, daughter of Ann (Farrell) and the late Donald Davis.
Deb was a 1974 graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Worcester MA, a 1978 graduate of Fairfield University and a Sales Manager for Procter & Gamble. In 2016, she happily retired after 38 years with P&G and had been enjoying retired life to the fullest by walking, traveling and reading with her bookclub. Her greatest joy was being with her family, friends and dogs. She was known for spending hours on the phone with loved ones from near and far and she loved to laugh and catch up. She loved traveling to the Hamptons and Florida with friends and relished family trips to Chicago and the West Coast. She loved the beach and spent many summers on Cape Cod at the family beach house stretching out beach days until the sun went down.
She was a fixture and #1 fan at lacrosse, soccer, hockey games and horse shows and cheered her husband on from the shore of kayak races. A true competitor, she loved showing her own dogs and she loved to win. More than the winning, she loved the community, friendship and camaraderie of sports and sports fandom (go Boston).
Debbie served her community and was passionate about teaching children and advocating for democracy, equality, and social justice. She was a woman of strong faith and let that faith guide her heart in everything she did. She loved animals and particularly loved taking her dogs to the beach and watching her daughter Jen ride horses. She had an uncanny ability to pick the best puppies from a litter and most recently picked a new puppy for her daughter Elizabeth and her wife Gina.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her two daughters, Jennifer Davis Roche (fiancé Andrew Scozzafava) and Elizabeth Marie Roche (wife Gina Slesar Roche); her mother, Ann Davis; brothers, Scott Michael Davis and Mark Stephen Davis (wife Adele Gabor Davis); several nieces and nephews and a ton of friends.
Due to Covid health concerns, all services will be private. A celebration of life will be announced in the future.
