Obituary for Arlene Helen Carlson
Arlene Helen Carlson, age 97, of Stratford, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 in the Milford Health and Rehab Center. Miss Carlson was born July 10, 1920 in Bridgeport, CT. She was the daughter of the late Harold and Helen (Jursik) Carlson and had been a lifetime area resident.
Arlene was a retired baker for Mohegan Market, Bridgeport. She enjoyed cake decorating and made sure that all cakes for family birthdays and anniversaries were beautiful! She was a big fan of Liberace and a member of the Liberace Fan Club. She also collected piano figurines and had an extensive collection. She loved shopping and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Ann Greenhill-Gilbert and her brother Dr. Harold A. Carlson.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral service officiated by the Reverend Meg Williams on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
Friends may visit with her family Friday morning before service time from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
