Obituary for John Loehfelm
John Loehfelm, age 71, of Stratford, beloved husband of Timothea (Montgomery) Loehfelm, passed away Wednesday, December 1, 2021, after a long fought battle with cancer, in Connecticut Hospice Branford. John was born December 17, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late Harry and Helen (Garrity) Loehfelm. John grew up in Dumont, New Jersey and moved to Connecticut in 1971. He was predeceased by his brother Harry Loehfelm.

“May you climb a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young”
-Bob Dylan

John spent many years on the road, driving buses cross country and became affectionately known as “Hot Dog John" while he was the owner/operator of Cappy’s Provisions which he owned for 30 plus years. He was an avid Bob Dylan fan, and would listen and play along on his guitar and harmonica. He enjoyed going for rides on his Indian Motorcycle with Timmie, as well as going for rides with his sons. John enjoyed watching football on Sundays and was a master at completing "New York Times" crossword puzzles.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his two sons, Dylan Loehfelm and his wife Donna and Shane Loehfelm and his wife Jaime; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Deklan and Brooklyn, his beloved dog Harley and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of John’s life will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 at his son, Dylan’s home. Please contact Timmie, Dylan or Shane for more information, address and times.
