Obituary for Rita J. Kennedy
Rita Johnson Kennedy of Stratford, Connecticut, age 88, beloved wife of the late Russell Porter Kennedy passed away in Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center on April 11, 2014. Born in Lincolnville, Maine on February 12, 1926, Rita was the daughter of the late Elmer Johnson and Emily Young Johnson Magee. Rita was a long time resident of Stratford and was a retired supervisor of non-invasive cardiology at St. Vincent Medical Center in Bridgeport. During World War II, Rita worked on an assembly line building Corsair aircraft. Rita loved visiting with her family, the outdoors, horses, and traveling to Maine. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Alan and Linda Kennedy of Bridgeport and her son Lyle Kennedy of Stratford; a grandson Jeffrey A. Kennedy of Stratford and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a grandson Christopher Kennedy, one brother Alan Johnson, her older sister Barbara Johnson Tarantino and her identical twin sister Freda Dalton.
