Obituary for Marion Gariepy Winter
Marion Gariepy Winter, age 89, beloved wife of the late Edward Winter of Milford, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 in Milford Health Care Center. Born in Milford October 24, 1924 daughter of the late Gladys Truesdell and Clarence Gariepy, she was a graduate of Stratford High School Class of 1944 and Parson’s School of Design New York. Marion was involved in the writing of the operation and maintenance manual for the Navy’s Chance Vought Corsair built here in Stratford during World War II. She was also a bookkeeper-accountant for various local companies. Marion was an extraordinary talented artist in many mediums, her beauty will be remembered. Survivors include her devoted daughter Pamela Paterson Papan and her husband Thomas. She is predeceased by a grandson Gregory Yarosh and her first husband and father of Pam Papan Walter Patterson, Jr; a brother Lester Jacobs and a sister Elizabeth Gledhill. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren Carolyn Ayala and children Cristina and Michael; Kimberly Whelan and her husband Fred and twin children Alex and Fred and many nieces and nephews. Interment in Lawncroft Cemetery Fairfield will be private. Friends are invited to sign her online condolence book at www.wrmcdonaldfuneralhome.com.
