Obituary for Alma Barry
Alma Barry, age 101, beloved wife of the late Edward Barry, passed away peacefully February 11, 2017 in Lord Chamberlain Health Care Center, Stratford. Born in New York City, November 14, 1915, daughter of the late Louis and Rina Marchisio Barbero, Alma resided in Stratford for many years and was co-owner of Ye Olde Tavern and Ye Olde Restaurant with her brother, the late Roy Barbero.
Survivors include her son, Ray Barry and his wife Kathie; devoted daughter Patricia Barry; sister-in-law, Rita Spada Barbero; three grandchildren, Kevin Barry and his wife Wendy, Karen Kenney and her husband Chris, Kristen Manning and her husband Brian; eight great grandchildren, Ethan, Reilly, Kyle, Amanda, Sidra, Sabrina, Jack and Colin; a special niece, Laura Marino and her husband Pete; nephews, Jay Barbero and his wife Judy and Roy Barbero and his wife Mary.
A special thanks to the 4th floor staff at Lord Chamberlain for their compassion and loving care.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 10:00 a.m. by meeting directly in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Barnum Avenue, Stratford, CT for a Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery Garden Mausoleum. Â Per Alma's request, there will be no calling hours. Â
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association, 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489.Â
