Obituary for Anne Clare (Sullivan) Dennean
Anne Clare (Sullivan) Dennean, age 86, formerly of Stratford and most recently of Milford and West Haven, beloved wife of the late James Dennean, passed away with her loving daughter by her side, Sunday morning, October 22, 2017.
Anne was born July 30, 1931 in the Bronx, New York, daughter of the late Alphonsus and Josephine (Regan) Sullivan.Â
Survivors include her very loved children, Joanne Wickson and husband John, Clare Rogers and her husband Kevin, and Peter Dennean; nine cherished grandchildren, Jessica Kodzik, Peter Kopchik and his partner, Jennifer Johnson, James A. Dennean V and his wife Karen, Leigh-Ann Dennean and her partner Kevin LaForce, Patrick Marro, Anthony Marro and his fiancé, Alicia Condon, Cassandra Marro and her partner Nick Ciambriello, Daniel Dennean and Kirsten Dennean; great grandchildren, Caleb Kodzik, Valentine and James Dennean V, Michael Francis, Lilly and Kylee May and Jace LaForce; her sister Jean Breiner and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews who all loved their Aunt Anne and who she deeply treasured.Anne also leaves behind her dearest friend, Kay Spodnick, her friends and family of the Saint James community with whom she walked her spiritual journey and cared for so many others along the way.
She was recently predeceased by her son James Dennean III (August 27, 2017) and sister Joan Whalen (September 20, 2017). She was also predeceased by her brothers-in-law, James Whalen and George Breiner.
Her family would like to thank Carmella Ruff, Maleane McLeod, and Vitas Health Care for their kind and loving support. A special thank you to her cherished grandson, Patrick Marro, for his tender care.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. by meeting directly in Saint James Church, 2070 Main St., Stratford. Interment will be private.
Friends may visit with her family Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in The William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford.
In Lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Saint James Church, Care of Our Father's House program or their Social Out Reach Ministry, 2110 Main St., Stratford, CT 06615.
