Obituary for Catherine M. (Hylen) Tallon
Catherine Marie (Hylen) Tallon, age 96, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late James Tallon, passed away peacefully, Thursday, October 22, 2015 in the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Mrs. Tallon was born March 23, 1919 in Stratford, daughter of the late Karl and Catherine (Power) Hylen.
Catherine was a retired Administrator for the Norwalk Medical Group. She loved the beach, the sun, golfing, cooking, sewing and traveling, but the pride of her life was her family, especially her three grandsons.
She is survived by her two devoted children, James Tallon and his wife Elizabeth of Chappaqua, NY and Susan Bouffard and her husband Paul of Huntington, CT; her three cherished grandsons, Fitzpatrick Tallon and his wife Cara, Sean Tallon and his wife Charlotte and Matthew Bouffard and his wife Shannon and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her eight siblings, Robert Hylen, Freda Bouton, Esther Russell, Henry Hylen, Emily Spence, Carl Hylen, Frederick Hylen and Harold Hylen.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral service officiated by the Reverend Simeon Law on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may visit with her family from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine's memory may be made to The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th floor, New York, NY 10004 or the Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
