Obituary for Clifton Burris
Clifton Burris, age 81, of Seymour, beloved husband of Linda (Trask) Burris, passed away peacefully, Monday October 15, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loved ones.Â
Clifton was born February 14, 1937 in Checotah, Oklahoma, son of the late Melvin and Dorothy (Goudeau) Burris.Â
He was United States Army and Marine Veteran of the Korean War and was a retired engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft and a self-employed videographer. He was also a publisher of several Christian Spiritual books. He enjoyed studying the Bible and sharing the love of God. He is remembered for his kindness, compassion, and sweet soul. Most remember him for his big hugs, and steadfast faith in the Lord.Â
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include his four children, Vicki (Burris) Dan and her husband Michael, Michael James Trask and his wife Christine, Alana Dawn Burris and Sara Elizabeth Burris; one granddaughter, Nevaeh; three brothers, Vernon, Joaquin and Larry Burris; sister-in-law, Carlene Kopchak and many nieces and nephews.Â
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service officiated by Pastor Chris Willis on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Corner Stone Assembly of God Church, 656 Oxford Road, Oxford, CT.Â
Military Honors will follow at the church.Â
