Obituary for Cynthia M. Horan
Cynthia "Cindy" (Nielson) Horan, age 64, of Stratford, beloved wife for 43 years of Duane W. Horan, Jr., passed away peacefully Thursday, October 2, 2014 in St. Vincent Medical Center, Bridgeport surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Horan was born March 5, 1950 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Earl and Rose (Brancato) Kasparek and had been a lifetime area resident. A graduate of Bunnell High School, she was retired from UPS where she had been employed as a clerk for 32 years. Cindy cherished her grandchildren, loved to spoil the various dogs that she had adopted through the years, and enjoyed visiting the casinos. Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her two children, Valerie Iott and her husband Eric of Seymour and Duane E. Horan of Stratford; two sisters and a brother, Sharon Statkowski and her husband Hank of Pennsylvania, Darlene Eisemann and her husband Doug of Florida and Earl Nielson and his wife Linda of Florida; three grandchildren, Ethan, Peyton and Noah Iott and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the St. V's network of providers for the care and support that they provided over the past few years. Friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford. Interment will be private. Friends may visit with the family Wednesday before service time from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Cindy may be made to either: the Saint Jude’s Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or the Stratford Animal Rescue Society, PO Box 1371, Stratford, CT 06615.
