Obituary for Dorothy Ann (Gaydos) Joyce
Dorothy Ann (Gaydos) Joyce, age 80, of Stratford, beloved wife of Robert R. Joyce, passed away at home, Tuesday, November 10, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Joyce was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Stephen and Cecilia Gaydos and had been a life time area resident.
Dorothy was retired from Pitney Bowes. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was devoted to her family.
In addition to her beloved husband and pet dog "Jack", she is survived by five children, Deborah Joyce of Stratford, Donna Knott and her husband Robert of Ansonia, Robin Brennan and her husband Kevin of Westerly, Rhode Island, Edward Joyce and his wife Peggy of Derby and Rae Marie Joyce of Stratford; seven grandchildren, Gregory Rocks, Kelly Stewart, Joseph Knott, Robert Knott, Krystina Knott, Raymond Knott and Emily Joyce; five great-grandchildren, Avery, Alex, Chase, Gracie and Colby; one brother, Joseph Gaydos and his wife Terry and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Richard Gaydos, Vincent Serra and Eleanor Angal.
Friends are invited to attend her funeral service Friday, November 13, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford. Interment will be private. Friends may visit with the family Friday before service time from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
