Obituary for Eileen Mortensen
Eileen P. Mortensen, 87, passed away on August 17th at The Jewish Home For The Elderly in Fairfield, CT. She was born on April 26th, 1925 in Sherbrook, Canada to the late Stanley and Margaret Phillips. She graduated from Stratford High School in Stratford, CT in 1943. Eileen married Andrew Mortensen in 1944 in Stratford, CT. They were married for 49 years. Eileen was a member of the First Congregational Church of Stratford. She was an avid reader of mystery books, enjoyed gardening, and spending time with her family. Eileen is survived by her children David and his wife Gloria of Stratford, CT and Scott and his wife Lydia of Newtown, CT., her six grandchildren Gregory, David, Amy, Daniel, Thomas, and Rebecca, and her three great grandchildren Gregory, Andrew, and Henry. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Andrew. Many thanks to the wonderful nursing staff at the Jewish Home For The Elderly for being friends to Eileen, and for making her comfortable while she was a resident. There will be no services or calling hours. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the Congregational Church of Stratford, 2301 Main Street Stratford, CT 06615.The William R.
