Obituary for Gerard N. Stedner
Gerard Nathan Stedner, age 83, of Stratford, beloved husband of the late Florence (McConnell) Stedner, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 in Stratford, Connecticut. He was born April 12, 1934 in Ellenville, New York, son of the late Charles and Ethel (Krom) Stedner and was a longtime Stratford, Connecticut resident.
Mr. Stedner was a United States Army Ranger veteran of the Korean War and was retired from the Town of Stratford. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed vacations at their summer home in upstate NY.Â
Survivors include his four sons, Michael Stedner and his wife Cindy of Napanoch, NY, Thomas Stedner and his wife Christine of Derby, CT, Jeffrey Stedner and his wife Joyce of Oxford, CT and Jason Stedner and his wife Sarah of Stratford, CT; twelve grandchildren, Shawn, Sara, Nicole, Jennifer, Valerie, Hunter, John, Sarah, Stephanie, Erika, Stephen and Matthew; his sister, Phyliss Phillips; his brother, Robert Stedner and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles Jr. and Herbert Stedner and one sister, Joan (Stedner) Porter.Â
Friends are invited to attend His funeral service on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Loucks Funeral Home, 79 N. Main St, Ellenville, NY 12428. Interment will follow in Fantinekill Cemetery, Ellenville, NY. Friends may visit with his family before service time from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Loucks Funeral Home. Â
There will be no services in Connecticut.Â
