Obituary for Gertrude S. Monahan
Gertrude S. Monahan, age 94, passed away peacefully into eternal rest Saturday, October 15 in the Wesley Heights Assisted Living Facility, Shelton. Miss Monahan was born January 27, 1922 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Garry and Sarah (Ryan) Monahan.
Gertrude traveled to Florida in the 1950's and worked for a Land Tittle Company until retirement. She remained in Florida for many years before returning to Connecticut to live out her life close to her family up north. Her joy was centered around family and she loved spending time with the little ones as the family grew.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Garry Monahan and his wife Aimee, John Monahan and his wife Arlene, and her sisters, Mary Liptak and her husband Ralph and Veronica Morgan and her husband John.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and great and great-great grand nieces and nephews.
In honoring her request, all services are private. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
