Obituary for Harry E. Luther
Harry Ewald Bruno Luther Sr., 84 of Shelton, beloved husband of 60 years of Lois Margaret (Wellner) Luther, passed away peacefully on Saturday January 7, 2017 at Griffin Hospital, Derby. Mr. Luther was born June 18, 1932 in Montreal, Quebec Province, Canada son of the late Edmund and Wanda (Gross) Luther and had been a CT resident for more than 70 years.
He was a retired auto mechanic with the former Sabo Auto Body Repair in Seymour. Upon his retirement, he along with his wife and son enjoyed traveling the world visiting such places as Egypt, Jordan, India, Czech Republic, Yugoslavia, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Greece, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Central America. They also traveled extensively throughout the U.S. especially the National Parks. He also enjoyed camping, western line dancing and carpentry.
Harry is survived by two sons, Harry "Corky" Luther of Shelton and Martin Ty Luther of Ansonia, one brother Ronald Luther of Ansonia, several cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother Edward of Irving Texas.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Friday, January 13, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St. Stratford. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Friends may visit with his family Friday morning before service time from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, those who so desire can make a contribution to a charity or church of their choice.
