Serving Our Community Since 1951“Scrip” as he was known to his friends was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and a retired letter carrier for the US Postal Service. He was a graduate of Stratford High School, a member of the Stratford VFW post 9460, US Postal retirees and the America St John AF AM Post no 8 Lodge in Stratford. He enjoyed golfing, bowing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include daughter, Diane Scripture of Stratford; his niece Cam and nephew Peter.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Harriet Williams and Dorothy Hague.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral service officiated by the Reverend Simeon Law on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Stratford.
Friends may visit with his family Wednesday morning before service time from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.
