Obituary for James Shelton Jr.
James Shelton, Jr., age 65 of Waterbury and previously of Bridgeport passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 in Saint Mary's Hospital, Waterbury.
Mr. Shelton was born March 1, 1951 in Bridgeport, son of the late James and Geraldine (Johnson) Shelton Sr., husband of Lorraine (Jump) Shelton and had been a life time area resident.
James was an avid fisherman and a retired construction worker.
Survivors include his partner and care giver, Santia Dunbar; his children, Akish Day-Shelton and her fiancé Shountye McFarland, Florence Shelton and James Shelton III; and several other children, step children, grandchildren, siblings, cousins and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his previous partner Agnes White.
Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Saturday evening, September 10, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford CT. Friends may visit with his family Saturday before service time from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
