Obituary for Jean (Mandley) Sekelsky
Jean (Mandley) Sekelsky, age 88, of Stratford, beloved wife of the late Richard Sekelsky, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Mrs. Sekelsky was born in Remington, Virginia, February 13, 1934, daughter of the late John and Virginia (Marsh) Mandley and had been a longtime Stratford resident.
Jean was a retired secretary and member of New Life Church, Trumbull, CT. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and spending time with family. Her family was everything to her and she loved telling folks about the history of her grandparents and growing up in Virginia. She was a 1952 graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and had the opportunity to work at the Pentagon during and after graduating from high school.
Survivors include her children, Thomas Grey (Jill), Susan Nagy (Bob), Michael Sekelsky (Michelle); grandchildren, Amanda and Julie Grey, Leah Barnett, Taylor and Danielle Sekelsky, Melody Peslak, Jennifer and Robert Berry, Sara Gallagher; 9 great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two children, Bonnie Edmunds and Robert Berry.
Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford.
Interment will follow at Long Hill Cemetery, Trumbull.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday before service time from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in the funeral home.
