Obituary for Jean Marie "Jeannie" Downey-Cyr
Jean Marie “Jeannie” Downey-Cyr, age 52, of Bridgeport, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Jean was born January 2, 1966 in Bridgeport, daughter of Claude Cyr and Shirley Cormier and had been a lifetime area resident.
She was a retired Nanny. She enjoyed traveling to see her favorite local bands; The mix, Shameless, Riot Kings etc. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She loved the beach, all outdoor events and being surrounded by family, friends and her animals, China, Roxy, Minnie, Markia, Marietta.
Survivors include her longtime partner, Kelvin J. Jackson, her ex-husband John Downey; her brothers, Michael & Joseph Cormier; brother-in law, Arthur Downey and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends including a special cousin Kimmie Thompson.
She was predeceased by her sister, Deborah Ann Grumman.
Friends are invited to celebrate her life on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St. Stratford.
Friends may visit with her family before service time Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
